Three motifs work together. The seated Goddess Lakshmi is the centre, the one every South Indian family recognises on temple jewellery. Padma, the lotus, is her own emblem. Is this real gold, or gold-plated?

Neither, strictly. It is premium heritage imitation jewellery from Pavizham by Prabha's Heritage: a brass-alloy base with an antique gold temple finish. It is not solid gold and we do not describe it as gold covering or quote a gold content.

What comes in the set?

Two pieces: the Lakshmi pendant necklace and one matching pair of Jhimikki with pearl-like bead drops. No other item is included.

What are the Padma and Mayura motifs on this necklace?

Padma is the lotus and Mayura is the peacock. Both are worked into the pendant around the seated Goddess Lakshmi — the lotus as Lakshmi's own emblem, the peacock for movement and shape. The product is named for the motifs that are actually on it.

What does Jhimikki mean, and is it the same as a jhumka?

Jhimikki is the Kerala name for the domed, bell-shaped South Indian temple earring — the same silhouette many buyers know as a jhumka. We use the Kerala name because that is what the piece is. The Jhimikki in this set are made to match the Lakshmi pendant necklace and carry pearl-like bead drops.

How does the necklace fasten, and can I change the length?

It fastens with an adjustable ring clasp and a fish-hook. The hook can be fastened into different rings along the chain, so the necklace sits higher or lower on the neckline as you prefer.

Are the ruby and emerald stones real?

No. They are described by their visible tone — ruby-toned and emerald-toned — with pearl-like drops. We do not represent them as precious gemstones or natural pearls.

Is this jewellery skin-friendly?

We do not publish a nickel-free or hypoallergenic claim on this piece, because we have not verified one. The base is a brass alloy with an antique gold finish. If plated jewellery has irritated your skin before, message us before ordering.

Can a bride wear this, or is it more of a guest piece?

Both work. As bridal jewellery it stands as the principal necklace story, with restrained earrings and no competing head ornament. As a wedding guest you can wear the same set against a lighter semi-silk and let it carry the whole look.

What colour saree suits this necklace set?

Maroon, kumkum red, bottle green, magenta, mustard-gold and ivory all hold antique gold with ruby-toned and emerald-toned stones well. A Kanchipuram silk or semi-silk saree from Prabha's Heritage is the natural pairing.

How long will the antique gold finish last?

That depends on skin chemistry, climate, sweat, friction and storage. Wearing it last, removing it first, wiping it dry and storing it in an airtight pouch will keep the finish even for far longer. Plating does soften at high-contact points over time, and we do not promise otherwise.

What do I do if it arrives damaged or the wrong item comes?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your Order ID and one continuous, uncut 360° unboxing video that begins with the sealed parcel and clearly shows the shipping label. Damaged or incorrect items are the exception to the final-sale rule, and that video is what lets us act on the claim.
