From Structure to Soul — A Journey Rewoven

A Note from Praseedha Balasubramanian

I am Praseedha Balasubramanian, born and raised in Central Travancore, Kerala, in a family rooted in strong values, enterprise and tradition.

Coming from a business family, I grew up witnessing both the rewards and sacrifices of entrepreneurship. My father's dedication often meant missing moments at home — and as a child, that stayed with me. It led me towards a path of certainty.

For 25 years, I built a global career in Information Technology, travelling across countries and cultures, including 13 years in the UAE. It was a life of structure, stability and achievement that shaped my resilience and perspective.

Then life changed direction.

When my professional journey in the UAE came to an unexpected end, I returned to Kerala. What initially felt like uncertainty slowly became an opportunity to pause, reflect and reconnect with myself.

With my husband Balasubramanian's gentle encouragement, I gave myself the space to rediscover what had always brought me joy.

And I found myself returning to something that had always lived quietly within me — a love for Kanchipuram silks, traditional jewellery, and the timeless elegance of South Indian heritage I had grown up admiring in my mother's drape.

I began seeing them as more than things of beauty. They carried artistry and culture, but also something deeply personal — memories of women, celebrations, families and stories passed from one generation to another.

What once felt distant began to feel possible.

And Prabha's Heritage began.

Even the name carries our story:

Praseedha + Balasubramanian = Prabha

What began as a personal rediscovery became our shared purpose — to thoughtfully curate Kanchipuram sarees and heritage-inspired jewellery for women who value quality, individuality and timeless elegance.

This journey into entrepreneurship was not driven by pressure, but by purpose — a desire to build a life where ambition and presence could coexist, and success would not come at the cost of what truly matters.

Prabha's Heritage is a reflection of that choice.

It is more than what I do.
It is a part of who I am becoming.

And through this journey, I hope to inspire another woman to trust her voice, honour her own pace, and know that a new beginning can arrive at any chapter of life.
