Yes. Revathi Shaanta Varnam is pure Kanchipuram silk, handloom woven. Every pure silk saree we sell is dispatched with a Silk Mark tag, affixed before the saree leaves us.

What is a Korvai border, and does this saree have one?

Yes. Korvai is the traditional Kanchipuram technique where the contrast border is woven on its own warp and interlocked with the body by hand, rather than woven continuously with it. That is what allows an ivory-sage body to meet emerald and rose-mauve borders in a clean, durable join, and it takes considerably more skill and time than a plain contrast border. On this saree the pallu runs in continuity with the body rather than being joined separately.

What does the name Revathi Shaanta Varnam mean?

It is named for Raaga Revathi, a raaga known for its meditative, settled mood, and belongs to our Raaga Layam of Kanchipuram collection. Shaanta Varnam means the calm colouring — which is what the muted ivory-sage body expresses. Each saree in the collection takes its name and character from a Carnatic raaga rather than from its colour alone.

Does this saree come with a blouse?

Yes. A contrast running blouse with an emerald green border comes attached to the saree.

What is the length of this saree?

Approximately 5.5 metres of saree plus a 0.8 metre blouse piece.

Is fall and pico done before dispatch?

No. We do not offer fall, pico or other finishing services. The saree reaches you unfinished, so your own tailor can complete it to your preference along with the blouse. It also means the saree stays eligible for return or exchange, since altered sarees cannot be returned.

What is the Heritage Journal?

Every saree is sent with the Prabha's Heritage Journal, a printed note that carries the care instructions for your saree, blouse stitching ideas, and the story behind the Carnatic raaga the saree is named for. It is ours to give, not something you need to ask for.

How should I care for this silk saree?

Dry clean only, to protect the silk and the zari. Air it in shade after each wear, store it wrapped in soft muslin, and refold it along fresh lines from time to time so crease marks and zari stress do not set.

Is a pastel Kanchipuram suitable for a wedding?

Yes. A muted body with strong contrast borders is a considered choice for engagement, reception and muhurtham dressing, and it photographs particularly well in daylight. The emerald and rose-mauve borders give the ivory-sage body enough ceremonial weight, while the quieter body suits someone who prefers presence without a bold colour.

What jewellery goes with this saree?

We photograph every saree as accurately as we can, but a variation of roughly 10 to 15 percent can occur because of lighting during photography and differences in screen calibration. Dispatch is normally 2–3 business days, then 3–5 business days to major metros and 5–7 elsewhere in India, with free standard shipping on prepaid orders. An eligible return or exchange must be raised within 48 hours of delivery, with the saree unused and unworn and its tags, invoice and packaging intact. We also ship worldwide to supported destinations; customs duty and local charges are payable by the recipient.
