Questions buyers ask about this saree
Questions buyers ask about this saree
Is this a Kanchipuram silk saree?
No. Reetigowla Vanasmriti is a pure soft silk saree, handloom woven, but not woven in Kanchipuram. "Kanchipuram silk" is a legally protected name that can only be used for sarees woven in and around Kanchipuram district. This saree is woven by handloom weavers elsewhere, so we describe it accurately as pure soft silk rather than using the Kanchipuram name.
Is this saree handloom?
Yes, it is handloom woven.
What does the name Reetigowla Vanasmriti mean?
It is named for Raaga Reetigowla, a Carnatic raaga known for its gentle, contemplative character, and belongs to our Raaga Layam of Kanchipuram collection — our naming and storytelling collection, distinct from the fabric's place of weaving. Vanasmriti means memory of the forest, reflected in the saree's botanical border.
Does this saree come with a blouse?
Yes. A running blouse in deep aubergine-plum, without a zari border, comes attached to the saree.
What is the length of this saree?
Approximately 5.5 metres of saree plus a 0.8 metre blouse piece.
Is fall and pico done before dispatch?
No. We do not offer fall, pico or other finishing services. The saree reaches you unfinished, so your own tailor can complete it to your preference along with the blouse. It also means the saree stays eligible for return or exchange, since altered sarees cannot be returned.
What is the Heritage Journal?
Every saree is sent with the Prabha's Heritage Journal, a printed note that carries the care instructions for your saree, blouse stitching ideas, and the story behind the Carnatic raaga the saree is named for. It is ours to give, not something you need to ask for.
How should I care for this silk saree?
Dry clean only, to protect the silk and the zari. Air it in shade after each wear, store it wrapped in soft muslin, and refold it along fresh lines from time to time so crease marks and zari stress do not set.
What jewellery goes with this saree?
An antique-gold-toned heritage necklace and statement earrings from Pavizham by Prabha's Heritage suit it well. Because the border is already richly detailed with botanical motifs, keep the jewellery scale moderate so the two don't compete. A jasmine-adorned low bun and a deep plum bindi complete the look.
Will the colour look exactly like the photographs?
We photograph every saree as accurately as we can, but a variation of roughly 10 to 15 percent can occur because of lighting during photography and differences in screen calibration. Muted tones like this saree's rosewood-mauve are especially sensitive to screen colour settings, so for stronger confidence WhatsApp us at +91 7356777369 and we will arrange a live daylight video where feasible.
How quickly will it reach me?
Dispatch is normally 2–3 business days, then 3–5 business days to major metros and 5–7 elsewhere in India, with free standard shipping on prepaid orders.
Can I return or exchange this saree?
An eligible return or exchange must be raised within 48 hours of delivery, with the saree unused and unworn and its tags, invoice and packaging intact. Please note that an unboxing video is required at the time of opening your parcel — without it, return or exchange requests cannot be processed. For full details, please read our Returns and Exchange Policy.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide to supported destinations. Customs duty and local charges are payable by the recipient.
